Adaptation

The ADAPTACLIMA - EPAL will identify and characterize potential climate change impacts on the quality and availability of water resources in the regions under study allowing to assess the main vulnerabilities of  EPAL systems and services to climate change.

The analysis of scenarios and vulnerabilities will identify, select and evaluate adaptation options of EPAL to climate change, in order to minimize adverse impacts and maximize the new opportunities that may arise for the company. Adaptation is a medium to long term process, based on an initial strategy to be periodically revisited and evaluated. All entities that are somehow involved in the activity of EPALwill be involved in this process (public, private and consumers). The project will set priorities for adaptation measures based on a cost-benefits analysis in accordance with criteria established in collaboration with EPAL. Special attention is given to assessment of costs associated with adaptation measures identified, in particular with regard to planning and management of enterprise assets.
